Shelby County Public Library: Library Announces Picture Book Contest Promotes Literacy, Movement, N
Morristown, IN − The Morristown branch of Shelby County Public Library is promoting early literacy and movement in nature with a StoryWalk® Picture Book Contest from March 3 through April 12. Create a picture book for children with a story and illustrations, up to 30 pages long. Submissions will be accepted between Read Across America Week and National Library Week. Shelbyville, IN – Did you know that Marvel Comics has a local connection? Captain America's sidekick, a character named James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes Jr., was born in Shelbyville, Indiana in 1925. Create a piece of art celebrating our hometown hero during the Bucky Barnes 100th Birthday Art Competition from February 17 through March 17. Entries will be judged by three age groups: 0-5, elementary, and teens. Any art or mixed media submission will be accepted at the youth department. Art will be displayed

Test your sleuthing abilities by taking part in “Cold Case 1923: Trial by Fire” at Shelby County Public Library on Saturday, February 8 from 1-4 pm.
