Tonight COSTAKI ECONOMOPOULOS.    Comedy returns to the Strand.   Listen to Costaki on the Bob & Tom Show this morning, and watch him on our stage tonight!   Tickets are available online, at the door, and at Shelbyville Paint.    The performance starts at 8pm and Capone's Speakeasy is providing the bar. 

 

This week LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1986) will be our Tuesday Night Film Series movie of the week.   All the great songs and of course Audrey!.    The movie starts at 7:30pm and tickets are available at the door.

Did you notice the dumpster in front of the Strand today?   Time for some unexpected work on our marquee.   We have known for a long time (actually all the time) that we need to inspect our marquee.   That day has come.   We will be removing the layers of material from under the marquee.   This will expose the structure.   We also hope to find the original 1916 marquee that we know is there.   

The marquee was upgraded around 1934 or 1936.   At that time it was expanded to basically what you see today, albeit it had a vertical sign too.    In order for us to move forward with LED panels other upgrades, we need to know that our marquee is structurally up to the task.   
 

After everything is exposed we will get our structural engineer to do an analysis.  This is not easy, nor is it cheap, but it is necessary.   We will need help, so get ready to get dirty!

Not again!   Our AC units continue to give us fits.  We just fixed our lobby AC, again, now it is not one, but two auditorium units that failed.   We're starting to see a trend.

Sweet Baby James and Twitty & Lynn were fun!  Great music filled the Strand.   That you to all who attended both near and far.   The vast majority of both audiences were from out of town.   We appreciate their trip to Shelbyville to attend a concert.
