SHELBYVILLE, IN. (October 9) – USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024. This event will welcome youth, ages 7 to 18 from across the United States to compete. Young athletes will showcase their talents at The Blue River Cross Country Course at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Indiana.
“USATF contacted us at the end of September when their 2024 host site had to change. We began conversations with them, ensuring them that we were interested and more than capable of hosting their event” remarks Gary Nolley, BRCCC Director.
Blue River Cross Country Course features 2K, 3K, 4K and 5K courses that are specifically designed for events like the USTAF Championships. “We designed these courses with flexibility in distance, features and amenities knowing we would foster relationships with organizations like the USATF” states Nolley.
“Needless to say, we are thrilled with the hard work of everyone affilated with Blue River Cross Country Course, their efforts continually create opportunity and excitement in Shelby County. We’ve notified our hospitality partners that this event will not only bring 3,000+ athletes, but support staff and families that will be looking for accommodations, restaurants, retail and entertainment while they are here.
